Extracurricular Activity
The school offers extracurricular activities for all students:
- Boy and Girl Scouting from kindergarten through Gr. 8.
- Athletics- Parochial League athletics in grades 5-8, for Volleyball, Basketball, Track, and Cross Country. St. Rita's sponsors a basketball tournament annually.
- Younger students in grades 1-4 often form school-based basketball teams playing for the Racine Optimist League.
- Music- Children's Choir (grades 2-8), Recorder Band (4-8), and Saxophone Ensemble (5-8). Many students prepare on their own time for periodic talent days and for our annual Talent Show.
- Students in grades 4-5 form teams for the public library's Battle of the Books event annually.
- Art Club offers multi-week specialty sessions after school, paid program.
- The after-school paid Mad Science program offers the opportunity for more hands-on science exploration, grades K-5.
- Chess Scholars and Guitar Club are paid weekly afer-school programs, K-8.
- Bible Club is offered by our Child Ministry Coordinator after school, twice per month.
The School's committees also sponsor family-oriented and adult-oriented opportunities for fun and socialization. The parish runs a summer Festival, Lenten Fish Fry Fridays, Christmas Breakfast Social, and other annual and seasonal faith-sharing and social events. Parish-wide social and religious activities and opportunities are offered for all children and adults throughout the year.
